Alloys "Q" Series:
Our high-chrome alloy designed for unleaded
fuels which enables Rockwell Rc40 hardness combined with easy machinability.
Features
excellent resistance to high temperature corrosion in applications to 1150°F. All
20- and 21- prefixes without a suffix are cast in Q material.
"N" Series:
Our austenitic (non-magnetic) nickel-based alloy designed for natural gas, LPG, propane, and other
extreme heat applications.
Denoted by the suffix "N". Rockwell Rc45 and hot hardness
to 1600°F.
"S" Series:
Our stellite series. A cobalt-based alloy used in a very
limited range of specialized applications where additional abrasion resistance is
necessary. Rockwell Rc53. Denoted by the suffix "S".
Powdered Metal Series (25-
Prefix):
Powdered Metal allows for longer cutter life by causing less wear on your
cutting tools. This material has a rate of thermal expansion very close to aluminum
- making seat fallout in aluminum heads a worry of the past.
Engineered Advantages:
Q, N, and S series inserts are individually cast and have a true radius on the lead-in
edge to facilitate the press fit. Also, all seats have a fully finished inside diameter
to assist gas flow and swirl.
Sizes
"20-" Prefix: The 4-digit part number is the
cutter size. 1562 = 1.562" or 1-9/16" cutter. Actual O.D. of the seat is increased
by the press fit for cast iron heads - between 0.0045 and 0.006 inches.
"21-" Prefix:
The 4-digit part number is the cutter size as above. Actual O.D. of the seat is
increased by the press fit for aluminum heads - 0.007 inches.
"22-" Prefix: The
4-digit part number is the actual O.D. 2006 = 2.006 inches.
